Lela F. Self, 91 of Rushville, passed away on May 10, 2021 in Rushville. She was born on May 20, 1929 in Rush County, IN to the late Donald P. and Martha C. (Ralph) Fancher. Lela was a 1947 graduate of Rushville High School. She married William M. “Bob’ Self on November 23, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2014. Lela was the Assistance Vice President for over 25 years at Rushville National Bank. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years in the Rushville Chapter. Lela was the past president of the Business Professional Women’s Foundation and also received the Woman of the Year Award. She was also a part of the Rush County Mental Health
Association, Rushville City Council, and Industrial Park Board. Lela was the treasurer of Rushville High School Alumni Association for several years. She was a lifetime member of
First Baptist Church. Lela is survived by her children, Brenda Dean of FL, Terry (Mark) VanNatta of Rush County, IN, Barbara (Richard) Masters of Thomson, GA, Joni (Gary) Irwin of Indianapolis, IN, Julie (Jeff) Allen of Greenwood, and Rob (Tina) Self of New Whiteland, IN; sisters, Donna Graham of Decatur, IL and Doris (Roy) Elmore of Atwood, IL; and sister-in-law, Becky Fancher. She will also be missed by 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandsons. Lela is preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Ralph Fancher, son-in-law, Bill Dean and brother-in-law, Orville Graham. Services will be on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10 AM at Moster Mortuary, with Nephew,
Paul Bowling presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 4 PM- 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be held in Rushville East Hill Cemetery.
