Janice V. Tressler, 97 of Rushville, passed away on December 17, 2020 in Rushville. She was born on April 24, 1923 in Rushville, IN to the late Dan A. and Agnes (Higgs) Honley. Janice was a 1941 graduate of Rushville High School. She married P. Denton Tressler on August 17, 1940 and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1994. Janice was the oldest member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church for 85 years and the oldest member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary for 90 years.
In her early years, Janice and her husband owned and operated the Park Restaurant. Janice was also a toll operator for over 35 years at General Telephone Company, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed playing BINGO, watching her children play in sporting events, traveling across the country and trips to Lake George with her parents and family.
Janice is survived by her sons, Jon D. (Carol) Tressler of Rushville and Dan (Lisa) Tressler of Silver City, NM; daughter, Ann (Bobby) Lacy of Rushville; 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Roselle Mull, niece, Beth Ann Kabalka, nephew, Phil K. Mull, and her special friend, James Ravenscraft.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 am until time of service. Burial will be held in East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to Trinity United Presbyterian Church or Rushville Public Library.
