Betty Joan Addison
February 17, 1934 - March 4, 2021

Betty Joan Addison, 87, of Arlington, passed from this life to her heavenly home on March 4, 2021. She was born on February 17, 1934 in Rushville to the late Maurice and Alma (Kelso) Browning. Betty was a 1952 graduate of Rushville High School and received her BA in Home Economics from Ball State University in 1955. Betty is survived by her husband J. Lynn Addison whom she married on January 8, 1956. Betty taught Home Economics and English many years. She also was bookkeeper & a medical assistant many years before retiring from the Terre Haute Library where she was the office manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rushville. Betty was a talented organist and played in many local churches. In addition to her husband, J. Lynn Addison of Arlington, Betty is survived by 4 daughters, Cheryl (Dan) Eslinger of Fairfield, OH, Sharon (David) Johnson of Rochester, IL, Barbie Addison Hanes of Brownsburg, IN, and Debbie Addison of Mount Vernon, IN. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, James Hanes, Jeff Hanes, Chris (Bethany) Eslinger, Sarah Eslinger, Alex, Luke (Meghan) & Jonathan Johnson; great grandchildren, Cameron, Lily & Donovan Hanes, Elijah, Elliana & Ethan Eslinger. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Thomas and Blanche Kelso. Services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rev. Dr. Dave Richardson and Pastor David Johnson presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM on Monday. Burial will be held in Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Rushville.
